El Portet Cove
The Cap d'Or peninsula shelters the fine sandy beach of Playa del Portet, which boasts crystal clear waters. This small, shell-shaped beach is a magnificent place for anchoring, enjoying a peaceful swim, exploring the underwater environment or doing some paddle.
The l'Ampolla beach, at the foot of the castle, the busiest and largest urban beach in the municipality, is covered with fine golden sand. With peaceful, warm water and proximity to the town centre of Moraira, this cosmopolitan beach offers superior services. It is bordered by the Marjal del Senillar, a coastal wetland which has been declared a Wildlife Reserve. A popular urban beach. It is 250 metres long and 30 metres wide.
Calp Blanc Cove
This stunningly attractive, peaceful spot is ideal for diving and fishing, relaxing in the sun or swimming. Its waters, which can be rough, highlight the beautiful rocks being polished by the eternal lapping of the waves.
L´Andrago Cove. Small cove of stones with a wide rock platform perfect for diving, sunbathing and enjoying the marine fauna ( @thefoodbar_moraira ; @barlacabana ; algas_l´andrago ). Its proximity to various trendy bars and restaurants make it the perfect place to stay for a drink or lunch after bathing
On the road from Moraira to the Portet beach and close to the mouth of the Club Naútico Moraira, you will find the sheltered Cala Portixol, a quiet place which is excellent for scuba diving and swimming. This rocky cove is 80 metres long and 6 metres wide and contains a plant micro-reserve, also called Portixol, which houses a species called helianthemum caput-felis. It is a good place for spotting seabirds such as the great cormorant or the European shag.
Hidden cove ideal to arrive by sea. Stone cove with difficult access by land, surrounded by nature and impressive cliffs. A place to get lost and enjoy the peaceful environment. At the entrance we find the remains of the old police surveillance post, from where the contraband of tobacco and fabrics was controlled. We can also see fishermen's shelters that are still used today.
Although it is not a cove, the beauty of the seabed and the clarity of the coastal waters make it a must visit place. It is a cave in the Cap d'Or formed by the erosive action of the water on the limestone rock.
